Le serpent africain consomme \u00e9galement des petits oiseaux, leurs \u0153ufs ou leurs <strong>poussins<\/strong> qu\u2019il attrape en grimpant habilement dans les arbres. Pour chasser, le pr\u00e9dateur pratique la m\u00e9thode de l<strong>&#8217;embuscade<\/strong> : il dresse sa t\u00eate tr\u00e8s haut pour observer le p\u00e9rim\u00e8tre et reste immobile. Lorsqu&#8217;il a rep\u00e9r\u00e9 une proie, il la mord une seule fois \u00e0 coups de crochets puis se replie pour laisser le temps \u00e0 la <strong>neurotoxine<\/strong> de son venin d\u2019agir sur sa victime. Enfin, il s&#8217;approche et l\u2019avale. Sa digestion est tr\u00e8s <strong>rapide<\/strong> (une heure environ) pour un serpent : ses cong\u00e9n\u00e8res dig\u00e8rent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement leur nourriture entre 8 et 10 heures&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em> <\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Originaire d\u2019Afrique, le mamba noir est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme le serpent le plus venimeux au monde.
